Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-02-23

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how BlurpleTech Inc. ("Modulon", "we", "us") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use modulon.dev, apps.modulon.dev, and related products and services.

2. Information we collect

  • Account and purchase data: identifiers such as email, order references, and license-related records when applicable.
  • Service and security telemetry: timestamps, room/session identifiers, IP and device diagnostics, error logs, and abuse/rate-limit events.
  • Chat and collaboration metadata: operational metadata needed to route messages, maintain room state, and enforce safety controls.
  • Local browser storage: settings and state (for example theme, toggles, panel state, and optional cached identifiers).

3. How we use information

  • Deliver core functionality, including chat, rooms, shared drawing board features, and account/license access.
  • Maintain service reliability, anti-abuse protections, and platform security.
  • Investigate incidents, enforce Terms, and protect users, infrastructure, and the public.
  • Respond to support, legal, and compliance requests.

4. Chat content and room types

Modulon may provide public, invite-only, and secure chat modes. Data handling differs by room type and technical design.

  • Public and invite-only rooms: content and metadata may be processed to operate, moderate, and secure the service.
  • Secure rooms: depending on encryption and key flow, we may have limited or no practical ability to read message content.
  • No absolute security promise: no networked service can guarantee perfect confidentiality or security.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We may share information:

  • with service providers that process data on our behalf (for hosting, infrastructure, or payment operations),
  • to comply with applicable law, legal process, or enforceable government request,
  • to enforce our Terms, investigate abuse, or prevent harm, fraud, or security threats, and
  • as part of a business transfer where legally permitted.

6. Data retention

  • Private/secure room runtime data: designed to be ephemeral and removed when rooms are deleted, expire, or become empty.
  • Room-scoped recovery claim records: removed when the related private room is closed.
  • Unscoped recovery claim records: retained only for a limited period (default 30 days unless configured otherwise).
  • Security and operational logs: may be retained longer when needed for abuse prevention, legal compliance, or incident response.

7. Recovery keys and claim storage

We do not store your recovery key in plaintext as part of normal claim storage. Claim verification is based on hashed/salted representations. You are responsible for securely storing your own recovery key material.

8. Your choices

  • You can clear local browser storage and cookies using your browser settings.
  • You may request access, correction, or deletion where rights are available under applicable law.
  • We may keep limited records when required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.

9. International processing

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. We apply reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data and processing context.

10. Children

Where a feature requires age confirmation, users must meet the stated age threshold. If you believe a minor has provided personal information in violation of applicable requirements, contact us and we will review promptly.
